It is not good business for Merck to promote an old generic drug. They received goverment funding through Barda for new production facilities to manufacture their J&J vaccines. Merck makes billions off J&J and their new covid medication Monlupiravir is finishing up phase 3 clinical trials right now. They will receive 2 billion bonus from the goverment for this medication. Expecting Merck to toss all of their new drugs aside and promote an old cheap medication is unreasonable.
Just look at the state of Uttar Pradesh in India with 220 millions and only 15 new cases. In Uttar Pradesh they use ivermectin. Then look at the USA 130.000 new cases. Let me repeat 130.000. The only reason they don't push it is because it's not as financially lucrative as the vaccines. It has saved thousands of lives worldwide! I'd say he has been compromised/paid off by big pharma.
